Requirements

  • Qualified Occupational Therapist or Speech and Language Therapist
  • Experience working with children or young people, including families and care networks
  • Current HCPC or relevant professional registration
  • Understanding of escalating risks and placement breakdown
  • Comfort working in multi-agency teams
  • Collaborative mindset and forward thinking attitude
  • Confidence to help shape a brand new service

Salary Details

This role is Band 6, with a salary range between £38,682 and £46,580 per annum, pro rata for part time.

About the Role

This is your chance to join a newly developed Proactive Support Service built to support children and young people at risk of placement breakdown. You’ll work directly with families and care networks to provide timely, expert input that helps de-escalate complex needs.

The team is small but skilled, including a Consultant Psychologist, Nurses and AHPs working hand-in-hand with Leeds City Council’s Corporate Parenting Team. It’s a fresh opportunity to build relationships, design new ways of working, and make a real difference. Key Responsibilities

  • Work with children, families and care teams to provide specialist support
  • Use clinical expertise to advise, de-escalate crises and promote placement stability
  • Build close partnerships with inpatient and local services
  • Contribute to team learning, development and reflective practice
  • Help identify areas for improvement and new ways of working
  • Support service audits and improvement efforts
