Requirements
- A recognised undergraduate degree or equivalent study
- Previous work as a Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy assistant
- Experience within the NHS or broader health and social care
- Committed to helping patients maintain independence and dignity
- Strong communication skills and a confident team player
- Comfortable travelling for home-based assessments
- Experience in neuro care or community settings is a bonus
Salary Details
This Band 4 role offers a salary between £26,530 and £29,114, based on experience and qualifications.
About the Role
You’ll join a team that thrives on connection and outcomes. As a Therapy Assistant Practitioner, you’ll support patients with neurological conditions directly in their homes, working under the guidance of Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists. Your role blends clinical support with human connection — listening, encouraging and guiding patients to engage with treatment plans and make real progress.
You’ll also collaborate closely with wider services like Rapid Response and Community Rehab, sharing insights that help shape recovery plans across the board. If you enjoy a challenge and want to be part of a community-focused, patient-first team, this role is a solid match.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver therapy input for neuro patients in the community
- Carry out home visits and assist in treatment implementation
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across East Staffordshire
- Help patients build and maintain independence in daily life
- Document outcomes clearly using NHS systems and processes
- Share feedback with clinicians to adjust care plans where needed
- Support therapy delivery across related services when required
