Requirements
- BSc (Hons) in Therapy Radiography or DCR (T)
- Understanding of IR(ME)R regulations is a plus
- Effective communicator who’s empathetic and clear
- Strong time management and organisational skills
- Comfortable working with diverse patients and multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to handle complex treatment plans with autonomy
- A Welsh speaker? That’s desirable too
Salary Details
This role offers a competitive Band 5 NHS salary between 30,420 and 37,030 per year, depending on experience. Overtime and on-call duties may provide additional earning potential.
About the Role
Looking for a meaningful role where your technical expertise directly changes lives? As a Therapy Radiographer, you’ll deliver complex radiotherapy planning and treatments across a range of tumour sites. Every beam you guide and every schedule you adjust impacts someone’s survival, comfort, and confidence.
You’ll rotate through both pre-treatment and treatment areas, staying fully compliant with radiation safety guidelines and departmental protocols. They need someone who can balance science with heart, calculations with care, and detail with human connection.
From navigating advanced imaging systems to supporting anxious patients, you’ll do more than just treat — you’ll reassure, inform, and advocate. If you’re someone who thrives in a supportive work environment and wants to be part of something impactful, this is your calling.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver accurate and safe radiotherapy across multiple tumour sites
- Interpret treatment plans, ensuring precision and best outcomes
- Communicate clearly with patients, including those with additional needs
- Contribute to appointment scheduling and care adjustments
- Maintain compliance with IR(ME)R and other safety standards
- Liaise with wider hospital teams for coordinated patient care
- Update patient records using various systems for audits and analysis
- Participate in quality assurance checks and machine safety routines
