Requirements
- Registered healthcare professional
- 2+ years’ experience in Endoscopy or Gastroenterology
- Desire to join the NHS Clinical Endoscopist Training Programme
- Strong clinical record, sound knowledge of endoscopy developments
- Excellent communicator and confident team player
- Able to prioritise, influence others, and work flexibly
- Familiar with NHS systems and endoscopy procedures

Salary Details
Starting from £37,338 with progression up to £44,962 based on experience and qualifications, plus access to NHS pension and training grants
About the Role
This trainee Clinical Endoscopist role is perfect for someone eager to sharpen their clinical skills while earning a recognised qualification. Working closely with experienced consultants, you’ll receive a bespoke training package to prepare you for independent endoscopic practice. That includes gastroscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, or colonoscopy – depending on service needs.
As you grow into the role, you’ll support wider multidisciplinary teams, coach learners, and influence quality improvement across the Trust’s endoscopy services. Think hands-on learning, real-world application, and a fast track to Band 7 with full backing from a supportive team.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver patient-centred care within a flexible shift system
- Progress through NHS England’s Clinical Endoscopist Training (Level 6 or 7)
- Conduct scoped procedures in line with JAG accreditation
- Mentor and educate other clinical staff
- Contribute to service development, audit, and governance
- Rotate across community and hospital sites
- Lead by example as a clinical role model
