Requirements

  • Qualified in mental health nursing (RMN), occupational therapy, or social work
  • Current UK professional registration
  • Knowledge of mental health conditions, recovery principles, and relevant legislation
  • Awareness of risk assessment, duty systems, and MDT coordination
  • Comfortable with flexible scheduling and travel within the local area
  • Willing to complete breakaway or de-escalation training
  • Experience with psychosocial interventions and community-based mental health support is a bonus

Salary Details

This is a Band 5 post, starting at £31,049 per year (pro rata), with the opportunity to move up to Band 6 following your tailored development plan and successful progression in role.

This part-time role places you right at the heart of Wyre Forest’s Neighbourhood Mental Health Team, where new models of community care are taking shape. You won’t just observe — you’ll actively shape recovery journeys alongside experienced professionals and Primary Care Network partners.

You’ll support adults with complex needs through a mix of 1:1 support, evidence-based group sessions, and regular MDT discussions. Whether it’s psychoeducation, crisis duty support, or collaborating with carers, every move you make counts. And don’t worry, you’ll get strong guidance and protected time to learn — it’s a true grow-while-you-work role with a supportive team that wants you to succeed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Join weekly MDTs to contribute to team decision-making
  • Design and deliver recovery-focused mental health interventions
  • Support carers and families in understanding care plans
  • Participate in local duty systems for patients in distress
  • Deliver both 1:1 and group psychoeducation sessions
  • Signpost individuals to additional support services
  • Rotate through other clinical areas to broaden your experience
  • Engage in regular clinical and managerial supervision
  • Progress toward Band 6 through a structured development plan
